We all say we are going to do all these things when the new year comes and these things never stick. We say we're going to start our diets, drink less alcohol, quit smoking, save money, make more money, get a raise! Why do these resolutions never work?.....
It's because we are not doing the inner work! We still have road blocks! If you want to lose weight and eat healthy, you need to do the inner work first in order for it to stick. If you want more money, do the inner work. If you want to be more patient, inner work. If you want to be a better parent, inner work. This goes for anything in life you want to change. You can't change anything or anyone around you without doing the inner work first. Make your new year's resolution to find yourself! You owe it to yourself to be the best you can be! I can't express this enough. So sit down with yourself today, alone, and just get quiet. Get a pen and paper, write down what you want to change in your life. Then, start doing the inner work! Heal yourself from the inside out and become the person your suppose to be!!
Start with learning to love yourself and don't put pressure on yourself to do any of the things you wrote down. If it feels like your walking through quicksand when working on a New Year's Resolution then stop and figure out a better way. Life doesn't have to be hard. We just think it does, so we set up these goals and we fail because something inside is blocking us, then we feel defeated and start with the negative talk and it becomes a cycle we can’t get out of!
Yesterday I sat down to write a blog that was not flowing, I was forcing it so it wasn't coming from the heart. So I stopped and said to myself, you're being ridiculous, you don't have to write a blog everyday. I was trying to write one everyday because I want people to know I'm dedicated to helping others! So if its not flowing and your walking through quicksand, then stop and walk away! I wrote in one of my books that what I don't do today I'll do double tomorrow, if I don't cook dinner this week then next week I'll cook dinner everyday. If I don't work out today, I'll workout double tomorrow! Don't be so hard yourself, you are awesome! Keep telling yourself that!
